About the Academy

Playground Golf Academy is the vision of Steve Voguit, Kevin Grandy and Lucas Cohen, who have combined 50 years experience in both golf and fitness instruction.  The Playground Golf Academy's primary goal to provide a golf program in a fun, safe and nurturing environment which will allow children of all ages and ability levels to get a proper introduction to the sport of golf.

eve Voguit is currently coaching and managing the Playground Golf Academy-Florida where he lives with his wife and  eight year old son.  He spent the majority of his career working as the Head Instructor for the PGA TOUR Academy in St. Augustine, Florida where he played an integral role in the development and execution of the following:  golf schools, player development, private lessons, clinics and last but not least junior development programs.  Steve is a phenomenal coach of whom can connect with people of all ages and skill levels.  Throughout Steve's career he has had many accomplishments including representing the PGA TOUR as the Head Coach for the Chinese National Golf Team for the 2010 Asian Olympic Games as well as being a nominee for Golf Digest's Best Young Teachers Under the Age of 40. 

Kevin Grandy is currently heading up the Playground Golf Academy-Alabama.  Grandy was recruited by the PGA TOUR Golf Academy in part because of his years of experience managing and training in the fitness arena.  This experience coupled with his expertise in golf instruction makes him a true asset to the Playground Golf Academy.   During Kevin's time with the TOUR Academy he had the opportunity to train with some of the best golf instructors in the world.  Grandy coached players of all ages and levels and he is currently working closely with several young aspiring professional golfers.  Kevin left Florida in 2011, and is currently living in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife and two daughters, one of which is an accomplished golfer in her own right.

Lucas Cohen is an exceptional golf instructor, who knows how to simplify all segments of the game, with clear and concise teaching techniques.  It is the way that the information is delivered that makes the best golf instructor.  Lucas Cohen, PGA has the ultimate goal to become a head golf professional and a top 100 instructor recognized by Golf Digest.  His background includes extensive knowledge and expertise in management of the daily golf operations, a passion for teaching the game and a work ethic that focuses on customer satisfaction.  Lucas is a Junior Golf leader and innovator of fun programs that have been published in the PGA Magazine "Best Practices"(May 2009 & September 2010).
